This front page of the Spanish newspaper Marca is really important and we thank editor-in-chief Juan Ignacio Gallardo for this choice, because sports journalism must defend the freedom of Afghan youths to choose their future. 

 

And sport, let's not forget, is an instrument of freedom, solidarity and culture. Afghan youths are truly in danger of plunging into the Middle Ages if the international community is unable to act together to persuade the Taliban government to respect basic human rights. We must all mobilize to ensure a decent life for them. Women will have no future if we do not all act together to persuade the Taliban to change some of their attitudes. We must act quickly and together.
