UNIQUE TRADITION Journalists on the Podium is a unique tradition of celebrating longevity in sports journalism. It was born in August 2012 and Honav’s replica of the 2012 London Olympic torch was presented to more than 100 veteran journalists, each of whom had covered 10 Olympic Games or more.
“Many times we don’t think enough about how the stories, pictures and news are passed on. It is great to be here to honour the journalists, many of whom have become friends with the athletes,” said Edwin Moses – the former American hurdler who dominated the 400-metre hurdles event for a decade, winning gold medals in the race at the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games - during the first ceremony.

The veterans here are for us a core group of people who have all the answers because having more than six Winter Games means you know exactly what, and you can also make our work much better. We want to be promoted by you and also sometimes criticized by you," said one of the top sports leaders who was present at our ceremony.
