Seoul, the captivating capital of South Korea, is ready to crown the world’s best storytellers of the fifth AIPS Sport Media Awards on May 9, 2023 in a prestigious ceremony which will take place in the Grand Ballroom Vendome of Sofitel Ambassador Seoul.

 

From this graceful glass skyscraper flanked by Seokchon Lake and Lotte World Mall, the event will be broadcast live on our YouTube page: AIPS Media Channel. You can also access the live streaming on our website. Set your reminders for an unmissable celebration of sport media excellence which will gather journalists from all continents.

TIMING The programme for the night includes the prelude scheduled for 6:30pm Seoul time (11:30am CET) to set the tone for the much-anticipated ceremony gala starting at 6:45pm Seoul time (11:45am CET).

Attendees and viewers of the Awards ceremony will be treated to an unforgettable night as the spotlight shines on incredible pieces of sports journalism and those who produced them.

The fifth edition of the AIPS Sport Media Awards received a total of 1830 submissions from a record 138 countries across all categories. The Top 3 finalists have since been announced but they will only get to know their place on the podium at the ceremony - the AIPS Sport Media Awards Jury have done their final assessment.

 

The winners in the senior categories will receive USD 8.000 for first place, USD 3.000 for second place and USD 2.000 for third place. The winning trio of the three Young Reporters categories will be rewarded with a scholarship to a major international sporting event.

 

There will be Special Awards too, including - A Life in Sport and Investigative Reporting and more than 20 Special Mentions.
