The Argentine Federation of Sports Journalists (FAPED) marked its 70th anniversary during its 54th Congress, which took place on Wednesday, October 16, in the coastal city of Necochea.
In a video message, the AIPS President Gianni Merlo, congratulated FAPED, led by Santiago Veiga, for reaching an important milestone in its history, and emphasised the need for unity among all sports journalists while defending the principles of the profession.
The 54th FAPED Congress was hosted by the Circle of Sports Journalists of Necochea at the Sports and Recreational Complex of the Club Atlético Del Valle.
The Ordinary General Assembly was held in the morning, then delegates went on an organised city tour after lunch.
The next session featured speeches and presentations by special guests, including the presidents of the Sports Journalists Circles of Peru and Uruguay, Rodolfo Paverini (president of the Argentine Sports Confederation), Daniel Arcucci (ESPN journalist), Gerardo Montenegro (national senator and president of Quimsa, an Argentine sports club), and Jorge Busico (founder and director of DeporTEA).
