AIPS Europe meets with President of Cyprus

Following the annual “Excellence Award Ceremony”, organized by the Cyprus Sports Writers Union (EAK) on January 16, 2025, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, a delegation from AIPS Europe met with His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides.

In the presence of AIPS Vice President Yiannis Daras from Greece, AIPS Europe President Charles Camenzuli (Malta), vice president Gyorgy Szollosi (Hungary), dep. secretary general Nayden Todorov (Bulgaria) and EC member Oleksandr Glyvynskyy (Ukraine), along with host and AIPS Europe treasurer Erodotos Miltiadous (Cyprus), had a brief discussion with Mr. Christodoulides at the award ceremony, and exchanged memorabilia of the visit.

Mr. Camenzuli informed the President of the Republic about the upcoming EC meeting of AIPS Europe which will be held in Limassol, Cyprus in March 2025. The Head of State invited the Executive Committee of AIPS Europe to visit the Presidential Palace in Nicosia during their presence to the island.

Earlier in the day, Charles Camenzuli, accompanied by Erodotos Miltiadous, visited the offices of the Cyprus Sports Organization, where they met the Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth Dr Athena Michaelidou. The meeting was attended by the president of the Cyprus Sports Organization Yiannis Ioannou, the vice president Kalli Hadjiiosif and the board members Theodoros Kafkarides, Alkis Galatopoulos, Rikkos Pattichis and Stavros Michaelides.
