Prije malo manje od mjesec dana, 3.veljače, je AIPS, Svjetska udruga sportskih novinara, održao drugu svečanost svjetskog sportskog novinarstva i podijelio Nagrade najboljim sportskim novinarima u svijetu na svečanosti u Budimpešti.
Visoko na tim ljestvicama su bila i 4 hrvatska novinara, dvojica u pisanoj konkurenciji (Anton Filić, Večernji list i Filip Ožbolt, Sportske novosti), a dvojica u TV konkurenciji. Ipak, kolege iz TV branše su u ukupnom svjetskom poretku, a samim time i u poretku 10 najboljih europskih novinara zauzeli istaknutije pozicije - Stipe Antonijević, reporter Nove TV, kao treći Europljanin u kategoriji mladih novinara, dok je Edin Mahmuljin s HRT-a zauzeo šesto europsko mjesto u konkurenciji video portreta.
Hrvatska i hrvatsko sportsko novinarstvo iz godine u godinu pokazuju da imamo snage i znanja parirati svjetskoj konkurenciji, jedino je šteta da se više kolegica i kolega ne javlja na ovaj natječaj. No, možda će i ova informacija potaknuti hrvatske sportske novinare da se uključe u AIPS Media Awards ove godine. Natječaj se otvara vrlo skoro.
